A2 Media Studies

The following are some of the key pieces of information that you need to know about the ADVANCED practical:

  1. You MUST produce ONE MAIN TASK (Usually FILMED) and TWO ANCILLARY TASKS (Usually PRINT and/or WEB BASED)

  2. The MAIN TASK is worth 40 marks out of 100 and the TWO ANCILLARY TASKS are worth 10 EACH (20 out of 100)

  3. There are a list of BRIEFS that you MUST choose from.

  1. You can work in groups of up to FOUR but, for groups this size, you MUST clearly demonstrate that you have made a contribution to the project

  2. The teacher will let you know the deadline although this is usually by the time that school breaks for Christmas

  3. All of the RESEARCH and PLANNING that you will produce in the lead up to the creation of the project will need to be placed on your own individual Blog

  4. The Blog is marked out of 20 for the research and planning. You will also include an EVALUATION on your blog that is also marked out of 20. Therefore, the completed blog will be marked out of 40 (40 out of 100)
